Volunteers complete first training for European Indoor Championships 2017

First general volunteer training took place at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade (7,8,9 December)

Main goal was to introduce volunteers with their sector, specific topics, general organization of the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2017 as well as the culture of volunteering and decent conduct.

Volunteers were introduced with the European Athletics Green Inspiration Initiative which promotes healthy environment, sports, development and is also supported by our organizing committee.

Special guest Ivana Spanovic greeted everyone with a video message:
“I would like to thank everyone for deciding to be a part of European Indoor Championships. I know that we are both training hard for this event. Have fun, enjoy and I am sure that together we will make this Championships memorable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I can’t wait to meet you all in March next year!”

First group of volunteers, around 300 of them, passed first general training. After the training, they need to pass specific topics as well as competition test in order to prepare for the European Indoor Championships. There will be a special set of trainings for international volunteers from abroad and for those who live outside of Belgrade.

More than 450 volunteers will be needed for this event. Besides volunteers from Serbia, around 50 colleagues from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey, Netherlands, Belgium, Armenia and Georgia will join the organization.
