Serbian athlete and best shot put thrower Asmir Kolasinac starts second stage of preparations for the upcoming season. He plans to train through December and January in the Belgrade’s Athletics Indoor Center at Banjica.

On this occasion, first “Media Day” took place at the Indoor today and the media had the chance to test their skills in shot put throw. Moreover, Asmir became the first athlete to plant his tree, Liriodendron tulipifera (tulip tree that can grow even up to 40m) in the “Champions’ lane”.

Besides Asmir, every athlete that won any of the significant medals from the big competitions will have the chance to plant his own tree in this lane.

‘I have about three months of preparations before the Championships which I think is quite enough to reach the maximum form. I must not repeat the same mistake like last year, when I miscalculated the peak of my form. I am focusing everything on March and I will need 21 meters shot to win the medal’, said Kolasinac.

Ticket sale for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade’s Kombank Arena from 3-5 March 2017 is already underway and you can order yours on:
